Monday

Attempting to blog from phone. Seems to be working okay. Unsure what all the iPhone fuss is about. They’re fun for about a minute, and then you try to type something. Ridiculous.

Went to an extremely boring seminar about in-work welfare benefits this morning. Was an eye-opener though. 6.6 million a year of unclaimed money. Did you know that as a single working person you could be entitled to tax credits? Anyway, aside from that it seemed to be a long advert for the DWP and all the ‘great advances they’re making.’ Which is tosh. Yes, people are better off financially if they’re working, as opposed to claiming from the state, but in a lot of cases not by much. The whole system is a bit screwed, to be honest. At the mid-point interval I went and stood by the car, then I just left.

This afternoon I spent some time in the garden reading about housing policy. It was nice and sunny. I nearly fell asleep, but then I ate some biscuits which kept me going. After that I tottered sun-drenched through some paperwork. My job creates stacks of it. I thought about doing some writing after that but my brain was in a mess, so back to the garden with a book. It’s nice to work from home.

Seem to be doing a fair bit of ‘phoning it in’ at work recently. In dire need of some holiday. Two weeks to go. I found an old blog of mine and began to read through it. It was five years ago, and Abi and I were just getting together. I also found some hilarious YouTube videos, but can’t link from here so will have to wait.

Still only 21 pages of draft one covered in notes. That’s about 100 to go. Still getting to grips with Daytum and haven’t touched Foursquare yet. Feel interested at the moment in the idea of leaving a footprint. A trail. It will help my great-grandchildren when they’re on Who Do You Think You Are? in 2110.
