Minor update
The small birds seem to have disappeared. There’s no sign of a struggle, so I assume they have learned to fly and gone off to their destiny. Or there is a very tidy cat in the area.
I seem to be reading very little. I am still reading Cat’s Cradle, which I started last week. I don’t know why this is.
I have also broken my not-writing-yet rule. I got tired of note-making yesterday, so I started work on the second draft again. I have written one eighth of it. I keep forgetting to think about the super-objectives. These are the underlying reasons behind a character’s actions. My main character’s super-objective is to kill everybody. No, it isn’t really. That wouldn’t be a super-objective, because you would have to ask why he wants to kill everybody. You reach the super-objective by continually asking why? until it isn’t possible to ask it anymore, or until you reach a logical conclusion. So I may do lots of things for people all the time. Why? Because I want to be loved. Or I may always be spiteful to my mother. Why? Because I want to destroy myself. Our super-objective is what drives us to do what we do, and generally it is represented by a want, or a desire.
My current objective is to go and pick Abi up from work. Why? Because I love her very much. Why? Because we share our lives and everything in it. Why? I don’t have time to carry on, but you get the idea.
